COMPETITION RULES
of the Conference of Student Scientific Clubs
of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce
'Man and his environment'
Participants in the Competition of the Conference of Student Scientific Clubs of Jan
Kochanowski University in Kielce 'Man and his environment', hereinafter referred to as the Competition,
are students actively participating in the Conference of Student Scientific Clubs
of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce 'Man and his environment'.
Chapter I.
Organiser: Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce–Centre for Science and Student Culture
Chapter II.
Competition objectives:
1.Selection of the best papers presented at the Conference of Student Scientific Clubs
of JKU in Kielce 'Man and his environment'.
2.Popularising the idea of conducting scientific research, developing their own interests, supporting individual scientific activity among students.
3.Shaping a positive image of a student as an active participant in scientific projects (scientific conferences).
4.Referring to university values in a spirit of mutual respect.
Chapter III.
Competition framework:
1. The competition is open and aimed at students actively participating (presenting papers
and presenting other forms) at the Conference of Student Scientific Clubs
of JKU in Kielce 'Man and his environment'.
2. The competition involves the preparation of various forms:
a) a scientific paper not previously published in whole or in excerpts. The works must be the original creation of the person taking part in the Competition, they may not be encumbered by rights established in favour of the
third parties, must not constitute plagiarism or be a copy or extract of any other works,
b) plastic form (poster) – works made in any workshop technique (painting, graphic design, drawing,
mixed-media techniques – collage) or computer-based (works completed entirely with a computer or
with the aid of applications and digital devices) which are original and do not infringe on the rights of third parties; the format of the posters must not be smaller than A3,
c) multimedia forms (photography, film) – paintings, films, installations in which the use of digital media plays a significant role; works with graphic processing done with the help of graphic programmes, delivered on digital or analogue media, which are author's solutions not infringing the rights of third parties.
3. The competition is open to single works, series of works forming a coherent whole, as well as works created by two authors.
Chapter IV.
Competition rules:
1. In order to participate in the Competition, it is necessary to deliver the content of the presented scientific work in paper and electronic versions to the address: Ośrodek Nauki i Kultury Studenckiej (Centre for Science and Student Culture) JKU w Kielcach (ONiKS), ul. Śląska
15, Pokój 08 (Room 08), 25-328 Kielce by the deadline set by the organisers and in accordance with the guidelines provided on the website of the Conference and the Centre for Science and Student Culture of JKU in Kielce.
2. Presenting a previously submitted scientific work during the Conference of Student Scientific Clubs of JKU in Kielce 'Man and His Environment'.
Chapter V.
Evaluation criteria:
1.Scientific value of the paper and presentation.
2.Originality of solutions.
3.Adequacy of the title of the paper and speech to the content of the paper and speech.
4.Consistency of the interpretation of results and conclusions with the presentation and results.
5.Correctness and legibility of the layout of the work.
6.Correct use of language and style in the work.
7.Clarity of tables, figures, photographs and justifcation of their inclusion.
8. Correctness of scientific literature citation.
9.The form of the work (whether it is suitable for publication in its present form or with amendments).
10.Method of presentation at the conference.
11.Other evaluation criteria approved by an absolute majority of the members of the Competition Committee.
Chapter VI.
Competition and prizes:
1.The Competition awards: 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place.
The Competition Committee may change the number of prizes or award a distinction.
2.The Organiser of the Competition reserves the right to call for the necessary statements to be supplemented if they are found to be missing.
3.The winning works are selected by the Competition Committee of the Conference of Student Scientific Clubs of JKU in Kielce 'Man and his environment', consisting of members of the Scientific Council of the Conference of Student Science Clubs of JKU in Kielce 'Man and his environment.'
4.The scientific supervisor of the club does not participate in the evaluation of the conference speech of the members of the club of which they are the supervisor.
5.When assessing the entries, the Competition Committee awards points in accordance with the assessment criteria presented in Chapter V of the Competition Rules.
6.Points are awarded for the content of the paper presented in writing, as well as for the presentation of the topic at the conference.
7.In the case of collaborations, the prize is awarded per work regardless of the number of authors of the work.
8.The prizes in the Competition are in kind.
9.Competition winners shall acknowledge receiving the prize in writing with their handwritten signature.
10.The announcement of the results of the Competition, as well as the presentation of prizes, will take place on the last day of the Conference
of Student Scientific Clubs of JKU in Kielce 'Man and His Environment.'
11.Failure to collect the prize within 30 days from announcing the results of the Competition shall be considered as a voluntary resignation from its collection.
Chapter VII.
Final provisions:
1.The Competition organiser reserves the right to amend the content of these Rules and to extend the deadline for the submission of entries to the Competition.
2.All costs related to the preparation of the works for the Competition shall be borne by the participant.
