A message from the Chancellor on taking action to reduce the cost of fees for electricity and heat at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce
Message
of the Chancellor of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce
of 28 July 2022
on undertaking measures to reduce the costs of electricity and heat charges at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce
Dear All.
The drastic increases in the price of electricity and heat are forcing us to take action to reduce the cost of charges incurred by our University. This is also possible by reducing energy consumption. I therefore urge you to take a rational approach to the situation and reduce energy consumption in the occupied premises as much as possible.
Energy saving – list of most relevant measures:
- Turn off artificial lighting when natural lighting is sufficient.
- Turn off the lights in the currently not occupied interiors.
- Keep doors and windows closed when the air conditioning is on.
- During the heating season – air the rooms intensively and as briefly as possible.
- Take care to set the heating as skilfully and accurately as possible.
- Boil only as much water as you use.
-
If the nature of your work allows it,
– switch off all office equipment overnight, during the weekend, and during extended periods of inactivity; do not leave devices in standby mode – a lit LED on a device indicates that it is still consuming power; switch off your computer, radio, etc., and remove the charger from the socket if you are not using these devices at the moment.
I count on your understanding and engagement in the process of optimal use of electricity and heat at our University.
JKU Chancellor
