COMPETITION RULES

of the Conference of Student Scientific Clubs

'Man and his environment'

 

Participants in the Competition of the Conference of Student Science Clubs of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce
'Man and His Environment', hereinafter referred to as the Competition, are students who are actively involved in
in the Conference of Student Science Clubs of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce 'Man
and His Environment'.

 

I.

Organiser: Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce – Centre for Science and Culture.

 

II.

Competition objectives:

1. Selection of the best works presented at the Conference of Student Science Clubs
of JKU in Kielce 'Man and his environment'.

2. Popularising the idea of conducting research among students, developing own interests, supporting scientific activity.

3. Shaping a positive image of a student as an active participant in scientific projects (scientific conferences).

4. Referring to university values in a spirit of mutual respect.

 

III.

Competition objectives:

1. The competition is open and is aimed at students actively participating (delivering papers and presenting other forms) during the Conference of Student Science Clubs of
JKU in Kielce 'Man and His Environment'.

2. The competition includes two categories:

I. Scientific papers – not previously published in whole or in excerpts. The works must constitute the original work of the person participating in the Competition, must not be liable to rights established in favour of third parties, must not constitute plagiarism or be a copy or extract of any other works,

II. Posters, plastic and multimedia forms – works based on scientific research made in any workshop or computer technique being author's solutions not infringing the rights of third parties; format of graphical works not smaller than A2 and multimedia forms – paintings, films, installations in which a significant role is played by the use of digital media; works with graphic processing done with the help of graphic design software, delivered on digital or analogue media, being author's solutions not infringing the rights of third parties.

3. Works created by 1 or 2 people may be submitted for the competition.

 

IV.

Competition rules:

1. In order to participate in the Competition, it is necessary to provide the content of the submitted scientific achievement
in paper and electronic for to the following address: Centrum Nauki i Kultury UJK w Kielcach (CNK), ul. Śląska

15A, pokój 08, 25-328 Kielce – by the deadline set by the organisers and in accordance with the guidelines provided on the website of the Conference and the JKU Science and Culture Centre in Kielce.

2. Presenting a previously submitted scientific work during the Conference of Student Scientific Clubs of JKU in Kielce 'Man and His Environment'.

 

V.

Evaluation criteria in category I:

1. The merit of the work (scientific value of the paper, originality of the work, relevance of the title to the content, correct interpretation of results and formulation of conclusions) – 0-5 points.

2. Form of the work (correctness and legibility of the layout of the paper's content, clarity and legitimacy of included tables, figures, and photographs) – 0-5 points.

3. Method of presenting the paper during the conference – 0-5 points.

4. Language, style, and scientific literature (linguistic and stylistic correctness of the text, correctness of quoting scientific literature) – 0-5 points

Assessment criteria in category II:

1. Manner of presentation – 0-5 points

2. Originality of the work (whether it is based on own research and materials) – 0-5 points

3. Popularising value – 0-5 points

 

VI.

Competition results and prizes:

1.The Competition awards:

– places I-III in category I – scientific papers in each section,

– places I-III in category II.

In less than 15 entries are submitted, only 1st place will be awarded.

The Competition Committee may change the number of prizes or award a distinction.

2. The Competition organiser reserves the right to call for the necessary statements to be supplemented
if they are found to be missing.

3. The winning works are selected by the Conference Committee of the Conference of Student Scientific Clubs of JKU
in Kielce 'Man and His Environment', consisting of members of the Scientific Council of the Conference of Student Scientific Clubs of JKU in Kielce 'Man and His Environment'.

4. The scientific supervisor of the submitted scientific achievement does not participate in evaluation of the conference presentation they supervised.

5. In assessing the entries, the Competition Committee will award points according to the assessment criteria set out in
in Chapter V of the Competition Rules.

6. Only one in-kind prize per place is awarded, regardless of the number of authors of the work.

7. The competition will include in-kind prizes.

8. Competition winners shall acknowledge receiving the prize in writing with their handwritten signature.

9. The announcement of the results of the Competition, as well as the presentation of prizes, will take place on the last day of the Conference

of Student Scientific Clubs of JKU in Kielce 'Man and His Environment.'

10. Failure to collect the prize within 30 days from announcing the results of the Competition shall be considered as a voluntary resignation from its collection.

 

VII.

Final provisions:

1. The Organiser of the Competition reserves the right to change the content of these rules.

2. All costs related to preparation of the entry for the Competition shall be borne by the participant.
