Examinations (information for foreigners)
First-cycle studies, long-cycle master studies
If special qualifications are required for admission to a given programme of higher education, the foreigner must demonstrate that he/she has such qualifications. The aptitude tests are held before the relevant examination board.
At the Jan Kochanowski University, entrance examinations are held for the programmes: Artistic Education in the Musical Arts and Physical Education.
Candidates from abroad wishing to study at the Jan Kochanowski University must confirm their knowledge of the Polish language, as studies are conducted in Polish. Confirmation can be obtained through:
- completion of a one-year Polish language course in units designated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, or
- possession of a certificate issued by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language, or
- obtaining confirmation from the Commission for Knowledge of the Polish language appointed by the rector of the university hosting the studies that the preparation and the degree of knowledge of the Polish language allow the candidate to undertake studies in this language (on the basis of an exam or recognition of a certificate/diploma in Polish).
The obligation to submit the documents referred to above does not apply to persons who hold a first-cycle degree or a secondary school certificate obtained in Poland.
Second-cycle studies
In the event that a candidate for a second-cycle programme, has qualifications outside the area of knowledge of his/her chosen field of study, then he/she must enter an interview taking into account the programm-related learning outcomes of the first-cycle programme for the chosen field of study.
