Information for students

Additional information.

This is the minimum amount of learning materials to be mastered by a student. This outline of issues in the broad field of occupational health and safety constitutes an introduction to expanding knowledge in this area. Below I provide some legislation that is useful in this regard.

In particular, I suggest that you familiarise yourself with:

  • section X of the Labour Code (i.e. Journal 2020, item1320 ),
  • the minimum OHS and ergonomic requirements for computer workstations set out in the Regulation of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy of 1.12.1998 (Journal Of Laws No. 148, item 973),
  • the fire safety requirements set out in the Decree of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of 7.06.2010. (Journal of Laws No. 109, item 719) and in the Regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of 12.04.2002. (Journal of Laws of 2009 No. 124, item1030).

The listed legislation is hosted on the Internet System of Legal Acts, abbreviated ISAP. In addition, for those interested in this issue in more depth, I recommend the book BHP w praktyce – Bogdan Rączkowski, ODiDK, Gdańsk 2010, where we it is also possible to find the principles and methods of providing first medical aid.

The OHS for employees tab (on the University's homepage) includes the rules of conduct in case of an accidents or emergency, as well as an instruction on how to use the University's premises and technical equipment in a safe and hygienic manner, which also constitutes the rule and procedure for dealing with students while in the University's facilities.
