Dr hab. Monika Szpringer prof. of the JKU

Dr hab. Monika Szpringer prof. of the JKU in 1993 completed her studies at the Higher School of Pedagogy of Jan Kochanowski in Kielce, in the field of Pedagogy with a focus on care and educational pedagogy. She received her doctoral degree in pedagogy in 2000 and her postdoctoral degree in social work in 2008. She holds postgraduate degrees in: Psychology of Crisis and Crisis Intervention, Educational Management, Healthcare Management and Professional Counselling. In 2009, she became a specialist in public health.

She did two long-term (one-year) research internships at the Salesian Pontifical University of Rome, where she conducted research for her doctoral dissertation on children and adolescent risk behaviour and social prevention.

Her scientific activities are related to conducting research in the field of public health in its broadest sense, risk behaviours undertaken by children, adolescents and adults and prevention activities. She is the author of eight compact works, including two published in Rome. She has authored and co-authored numerous papers published in MNSiW-listed journals and co-authored several from the Philadelphia list. She has presented her research findings at numerous foreign, international and national conferences. She has also organised international and national conferences.

Since 1994, she has been employed at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce as an assistant (1994), assistant professor (2001) and associate professor (2008).

From 2001 to 2005, she served as deputy director for teaching at the Institute of Medical Education and then as deputy dean for teaching from 2005 to 2009. From 2003 to 2012, she was a member of the JKU Senate. From 2008 to 2012, she served as chair of the Senate Committee on Didactics and Student Affairs. Since 2012, she has held the position of Plenipotentiary of the Rector for Ensuring the Quality of Education and the function of the Chairperson of the University Committee for Education Quality. Since 2012 he has been an Expert of the Polish Accreditation Committee. Since 2002, she has been the Manager of the Crisis Intervention Point for JKU students and the supervisor of the student scientific association "Medyk".

She is the supervisor of 4 doctoral dissertations, reviewer of 3 dissertations and 1 habilitation.

For her scientific, teaching and organisational achievements, she was awarded the Rector's awards, the Medal of the National Education Committee, the Bronze and Gold Cross of Merit. She also received an award from the Świętokrzyskie Voivode for her prevention activities in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.
