Logos of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce

JKU logo The logo is the most important element of the JKU's visual identity. The essence of it is to highlight the prestige of the university and to serve its marketing purposes. Thanks to the initial, interestingly designed form, as well as the expressive colour scheme (red and black), which refers to the traditions of the region, the basic content related to the university - its location and traditions - is conveyed in a condensed manner. The logo serves as the daily visual identity of the Jan Kochanowski University. In this role, it replaces the JKU emblem, which in its current form is reserved exclusively for promoting the history and scientific heritage of the university. A clear separation of official functions from advertising and marketing functions, limiting the use of the logo to the present visual identity, will result in a gain for the university in the form of the advantage of taking care of its own prestige. The graphic mark is formed by the first letters of the university's abbreviated name - JKU - Jan Kochanowski University, which have been given an individual, specially designed form. The graphic mark can be used with the logo, a textual representation of the university's name, with the basic versions designed asymmetrically.

Coat of arms of the JKU The coat of arms consists of a shield modelled on the seal of the first Polish university - the Jagiellonian University from the 15th century. Two crossed golden scepters were placed on the red field from the base of the shield. Above them from the shield head on the right we see a double gold patriarchal cross, on the left a gold crown with five identical fleurons (stylised leaves). Below the shield there is a red ribbon with the inscription: Jan Kochanowski University.

JKU flag

On the right side of the flag, on a red background, there is the national emblem - a white eagle and the Latin maxim "scientia commendat omnia" which means "knowledge gives value to everything". The left side features the University's coat of arms: two crossed golden scepters, with a double golden patriarchal cross above them from the head of the shield on the right, and a golden crown with five identical fleurons (stylised leaves) on the left. The above coat of arms is surrounded by a white inscription: "Jan Kochanowski University Kielce". Stylized golden linden leaves emerge from the four corners on either side of the banner to allude to the poet's favourite tree from Czarnolas.
