Action 3.1 POWER Competences in Higher Education

Target group: The project is aimed at 600 students of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce of all full-time programmes of the final years of studies of the first and second cycle, and 4 employees of the Academic Career Office.
The project assumes:
Improving student competencies through:
1. Individual career guidance in line with competences (2-6 hrs. 1-3 meetings)
2. Career coaching (sessions from 2-6 hours) on: creating a career development strategy, identifying strengths and weaknesses, setting short and long-term goals
3. Guidance on setting up a business and developing entrepreneurial attitudes (individual and group meetings).
4. Business Cafés implemented in cooperation between the Academic Career Office and NGO employer bodies and the Students' union, allowing students to engage in dialogue, present their potential and learn about employer expectations.
Expanding the services provided by the Academic Career Office by:
1. Training in Career Coaching and Fundamentals of Psychometrics for 2 staff members
2. Training in the use of diagnostic tools for 4 employees
Purchase and development of diagnostic tools to identify competences: Social, organisational, personal and cognitive of students.
Researching the fate of participating graduates and using this data to improve the quality of the practical elements of education.
Recruitment will be continuous, running every academic year.
Recruitment criteria:
- status of third year full-time student, first, second or third cycle - 1 point
- status of third year full-time student, first or second in the programmes: political science, economics, artistic education in the field of visual arts, artistic education in the field of musical art, social work, pedagogy, journalism and social communication - 2 points
- disability certificate - 3 points
The documents submitted will be checked for formality. The selected 600 persons(444K,156M) will undergo an individual competency test. On this basis and after an interview with a vocational counsellor the participants will be qualified for specific support, i.e. additional individual meetings with a vocational counsellor,
for entrepreneurship, career coaching. Each participant will be able to benefit from all forms of support according to the individual needs diagnosed during the test. The
outcome of the recruitment will be notified to the student(s) by e-mail/tel. A reserve list will also be created.
Promotion and recruitment will take into account the principle of equal opportunities, including gender, background, disability. For candidates without Internet access
access to computers at the university will be provided, including for people with disabilities.
