SIMED- simulation in the education of nurses and obstetricians - a development programme of JKU in Kielce

 

Project 'SIMED- simulation in the education of nurses and obstetricians - a development programme of JKU in Kielce'; no. POWR.05.03.00-00-0061/17 carried out by Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce in partnership with the Provincial Combined Hospital in Kielce.

 

The project is co-financed by the European Union as part of the European Social Fund, Axis V Support for the Health Area, Measure 5.3 High quality of education on medical faculties under the Operational Programme 'Knowledge Education Development 2014 - 2020.'

 

Aims and objectives of the project

 

1. The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of education through the development of a development programme at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of JKU and the creation of a Monoprofile Medical Simulation Centre for the faculties of Nursing and Obstetrics within the period of 01.01.2018 - 31.12.2020

 

2. The specific PO WER objective will be achieved through the implementation of the developmental

programme of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in the field of education using the medical simulation method, including infrastructure support, increasing the competence of teaching staff and training students using simulation techniques.

 

3. The project targets 240 (234W/6M) students of Nursing and Obstetrics at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and 15 (12W/3M) members of scientific and technical staff.

 

4. The project includes the following tasks:

 

- Development of the developmental programme for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at JKU;

- Adaptation and renovation work of MMSC halls;

- Equipping the nursing care room with control room - high fidelity room;

- Equipping the OSCE examination for Nursing;

- Equipping a high-fidelity delivery room with a control room for Obstetrics;

- Equipping the OSCE examination room for Obstetrics;

- Equipping the ALS simulation room;

- Equipping the BLS simulation room;

- Equipping the rooms for nursing skills practice;

- Equipping the technical skills practice room;

- Equipping the obstetric skills room;

- Developing the teaching capacity of MMSC;

-Developing a database of simulation scenarios;

-Standardised patient programme;

-Inter-university cooperation.

 

The implementation of the project will allow Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce to expand its teaching facilities at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at ul. IX Wieków Kielc 19, in the field of medical simulation, through the creation of 11 simulation rooms for the Nursing and Obstetrics fields of study, equipped with state-of-the-art simulation equipment.

Value of the project: PLN 4 199 439.47

Please be informed that from 01.10.2018 applications will be accepted for the project 'SIMED - simulation in the education of nurses and obstetricians - a development programme of JKU in Kielce'. The project targets a minimum of 240 students (234W/6M) in Nursing and Obstetrics field of study. Recruitment concerns:

- 80 1st cycle students (78W/2M) of Nursing (2018/19 enrolment)

- 40 1st cycle students (39W/1M) of Obstetrics (2018/19 enrolment)
