Knowledge Afficionados - modules of innovative activities supporting gifted young people in the field of humanities
Project titled: 'KNOWLEDGE AFFICIONADOS - modules of innovative classes supporting gifted young people in the field of humanities' no. POWR.03.01.00-00-C069/16 implemented by Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce in partnership with the Kielce Municipality.
The project is co-financed by the European Union under the European Social Fund, Axis III Higher education for the economy and development, Measure 3.1 Competences in higher education of the Operational Programme 'Knowledge Education Development 2014 - 2020.'
Recruitment for the project 'KNOWLEDGE AFFICIONADOS - modules of innovative classes supporting gifted young people in the field of humanities' is extended until 6 October 2017, 3:00 pm
Aims and objectives of the project
1. The main objective of the Project is to improve the key competences of 82 people, school children aged 15-18 from Kielce schools in the field of communication, cooperation, critical and creative thinking, problem solving and innovative action by using the resources of the Faculty of Humanities of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce in the period from 01.09.2017 to 31.07.2019.
2. The project is aimed at 102 people (64W/38M)- schoolchildren studying at secondary schools in Kielce (general and technical schools). The target group will be gifted pupils, in particular winners and finalists of national and provincial competitions and subject Olympiads, and pupils with a particular passion for history, English, German, Russian, and social issues.
3. The project comprises four tasks:
Task 1 Involving schoolchildren in scientific activities
Modules of unconventional activities, including ways and methods to awaken curiosity, creativity and drive to increase knowledge among young people.
Task 2 NATIONAL MINORITIES - GUESTS OR CITIZENS?- history lesson module
The aim of the classes is to draw attention to national minorities in Poland throughout history and today in the form of cyclical meetings.
Task 3 STEREOTYPES IN THE MULTICULTURAL ANGLO-SAXON SOCIETY – a module in English.
The aim of the activities is to sensitise students to intercultural phenomena and to encourage them to explore nationality stereotypes on their own in the form of regular meetings.
Task 4 NATIONAL STEREOTYPES IN GERMAN CULTURE THEN AND NOW – a module in German
The aim of the recurrent classes is to learn about selected aspects of German culture with a particular focus on those in which stereotypes are present.
Task 5 CONTEMPORARY INTERCULTURAL TENDENCIES IN RUSSIAN CULTURE – a module in Russian (24 persons)
The aim of the classes is to learn about the culture and history of Eastern countries as a background for the formation of stereotypes and rules of behaviour in Russia in the form of cyclical meetings.
