REGULATIONS FOR THE AWARDING THE RECTOR'S AWARDS FOR STUDENTS
OF
JAN KOCHANOWSKI UNIVERSITY IN KIELCE

 

§ 1

  1. The following Regulations set out the rules for the granting and disbursing of the Rector's awards to students of Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce.
  2. The Rector's Award may be granted to a student of a first-cycle, second-cycle or unified master's degree studies for their outstanding academic, artistic, sporting or organisational achievements.
  3. The Rector's Award for Students can only be awarded for one type of achievement.

 

§ 2

  1. Cash prizes are paid from the Rector's Prize Fund for JKU students.
  2. The amount of the Rector's award may not exceed PLN 2000.

 

§ 3

  1. The Rector's award may be granted to a student who has fulfilled the conditions set out in § 1 sec 2 and has fully credited the year of study within the time limit specified in the JKU Academic Regulations.
  2. The Rector's award cannot be granted to a student who has been conditionally enrolled in the next semester (year) of study, has been sent to repeat a semester (year) of study, or has been punished with a disciplinary penalty.

 

§ 4

  1. A request for a Rector's award to a student may be made by the Dean or a Director of an interdepartmental unit.
  2. The application for the award must be accompanied by documents confirming the achievements of the candidate for the award and a statement by the student, which is annexed to these Regulations.
  3. Justification of the organisational achievements referred to in § 5 sec. 4, should include detailed information on organisational activities for the benefit of the University.
  4. An application template form is annexed to these Rules.

 

§ 5

  1. The Rector's Award may be granted to a student for the following academic achievements:
  1. the publication of a scientific monograph and a chapter in scientific monographs published by publishers included in the list drawn up in accordance with the rules pursuant to Art. 267 sec. 2 item 2a of the Act of 20 July 2018. - Law on Higher Education and Science (JoL 2018 item 1668, as amended), hereinafter referred to as 'list of publications',
  2. publication of a scientific monograph and a chapter in such monographs published by publishers not included in the list of publishers, resulting from projects financed within competitions announced on or after 1 January 2019 by the National Science Centre and within the framework of the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities, which obtained a positive result within the monograph quality assessment procedures implemented in these competitions,
  3. publication of scientific monographs and chapters in such monographs, published by publishers not included in the list of publishers and not resulting from projects financed by the National Science Centre and within the framework of the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities, which obtained a positive result of the expert evaluation,
  4. scientific articles published in scientific journals and in the peer-reviewed materials of international scientific conferences included in the list drawn up in accordance with the rules pursuant to Art. 267 sec. 2 item 2(b) of the Act on Higher Education and Science (JoL 2018 item 1668, as amended), hereinafter referred to as 'list of journals',
  5. participation in projects covering scientific research or development works, financed under a competition procedure by: National Science Centre, National Centre for Research and Development, National Programme for the Development of the Humanities, the European Union or member states of the European Free Trade Agreement (EFTA), foreign institutions, international organisations or entrepreneurs and entities acting for the development of science,
  1. The Rector's Awards may be awarded to a student for the following artistic achievements:
  1. authorship or performance of a musical work or other musical form presented at a prestigious review, festival or concert and of at least national scope;
  2. authorship or significant authorship contribution of musical works recorded on an album released by a high-profile production company;
  3. a significant contribution to an audiovisual work, including films, presented at a festival or festival of high prestige and of at least national scope or on the cinema or television circuit, including directing, editing, production design or cinematography, playing a leading or supporting role;
  4. a significant contribution to a stage play, opera, operetta, ballet or musical performance presented at a review or festival of high prestige and of at least national scope or on television, including directing, scenography, playing a leading or supporting role;
  5. authorship of a choreographic form presented at a review or festival of high prestige and of at least national scope or on the television circuit;
  6. authorship of a plastic or architectural work presented in a prestigious exhibition or gallery, or in a public space;
  7. individual author's art exhibition organised by a prestigious cultural institution;
  8. winning an individual prize or making a significant contribution to an achievement for which a team prize has been won in a competition, at a music, theatre, film, visual arts or architecture review or festival of high prestige and international scope.
  1. The Rector's Award may be granted to a student for the following achievements in sport:
  1. achieving in Olympic sports, Paralympic sports or sports included in the programme of the Deaflympics, in individual or team competition, in which Polish sports associations referred to in the Sports Act of 25 June 2010 (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1263 and 1669), at least:
    1. sixteenth place in the Olympic Games, Paralympic Games or Deaflympic Games,
    2. eighth place in the World Championship,
    3. sixth place in the European Championship,
    4. third place in a Youth World or European Championship,
    5. first place in the Polish Championships in the senior category,
    6. places referred to in points b–e in competitions organised for persons with disabilities;
  2. in individual or team competition in sports in which Polish sports associations referred to in the Sports Act of 25 June 2010, achieving at least the third place in:
    1. Universiade,
    2. Academic World Championships,
    3. European Academic Championships,
    4. European Student Games.
  1. The Rector's Award may be granted to a student for outstanding organisational activity in the following student government bodies:
  1. University Student Self-Government Council,
  2. Faculty Student Self-Government Councils,
  3. Resident Councils of individual Student Houses,

as well as to students who are outstandingly committed to the development and promotion of the University.

  1. When assessing a student's application, only achievements made between 1 October and 30 September of the relevant academic year are taken into account.

 

§ 6

  1. Applications for the Rector's awards should be submitted to the Deputy Rector responsible for student affairs by 31 January of each calendar year following the academic year for which the Rector's Award may be granted.
  2. Administrative support for applications submitted is provided by the Student Affairs Department.

 

§ 7

  1. The Rector, upon receipt of the applications referred to in § 4, after reviewing their substantive justification, takes individual decisions to grant or not to grant the award.
  2. The list of persons who have been awarded the Rector's Award in an academic year shall be announced by 15 March of the relevant year at the latest.

 

§ 8

  1. The student who has been awarded the Rector's Award receives a diploma.
  2. The prize money is disbursed to the student's bank account, by the end of the month following the month in which the Rector's decisions were made.
  3. The achievement of the Rector's Award is recorded in the diploma supplement.
  4. Receipt of the Rector's Award provides the basis for applying for entry in the Alumni Golden Book.

 

§ 9

The Rules of Procedure shall enter into force on the date of their adoption.
