Good practices at the JKU

The good experience of educational quality assurance implemented at the individual faculties in the academic year 2021/2022 was demonstrated during the evaluation of the Internal Educational Quality Assurance System. Below is a list of selected good practices at individual faculties/branches:

 

Faculty of Humanities:

- employees are members of the District Committee of the Olympiad of Polish Literature and Language for secondary and primary schools,

- the OPLL employees co-organise the Week of Polish Language Culture (lectures, jury work, XXIX edition will take place in 2021),

- the OPLL website include:

"Language Clinic" - prof. dr hab. Piotr Zbróg

"Simple Language in the Office" Language Support Centre for Citizen and Official - dr Joanna Kowalczyk,

- the OPLL collaborates with the Open University of the JKU led by dr hab. Anna Wileczek, prof. of the JKU - employees give lectures, conduct exercises and workshops,

- institute staff organise lectures and seminars open to students

and doctoral students, JKU employees, residents of Kielce and the Voivodeship,

- since February 2020, a bookcrossing shelf has been in operation at the Institute, which is used by everyone from the Faculty of Humanities.

 

Faculty of Law and Social Sciences:

- Faculty festival held once a year in September - during the ceremony, diplomas are awarded to graduates and prizes for the best thesis are presented,

- one day off per week for students - much appreciated by all students,

- cooperation with the District Court in Kielce - traineeships, internships, going to trials,

- cooperation with the Municipal Police Headquarters,

- cooperation with the Accountants Association, branch in Kielce - organisation of the annual Świętokrzyskie Accounting Knowledge Competition for students - prizes include an internship in an accounting office,

- cooperation with the Union of Polish Banks - lectures and meetings with representatives of banking institutions,

- cooperation with the Statistical Office in Kielce,

- numerous lectures and meetings with representatives from the legal, business, political and diplomatic communities from Poland and abroad,

- participation of students in training and courses/internships and the involvement of faculty authorities in their organisation.

 

Faculty of Exact and Life Sciences:

- co-organising the so-called CHEMNOC: dissemination of knowledge,

"Biology night": for biotechnology students,

- activity of SKN "Microbes" and "Calcite"; numerous presentations of these associations at the Student Scientific Associations Session and numerous publications in post-conference materials and winning awards for conference presentations,

- participation in the popularisation of science "Museums night" - Podzamcze Chęcińskie,

- active co-authorship of students in scientific publications,

- participation in the Education Quality Days organised at the JKU,

- the active operation of the SOLUTION student computer science association, which brings together computer science students who wish to deepen and broaden their knowledge of the latest developments in computer science and related disciplines,

- participation of staff from the Institute of Physics in the regional finals of the E(x)plory competition,

- cooperation with schools in the Świętokrzyskie voivodship,

- participation of computer science students in the "Night of physicists",

- participation in the project entitled NEW PERSPECTIVES for the development of the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, as part of which students undertake paid, three-month internships.

 

Collegium Medicum:

- participation in activities organised on the occasion of the Education Quality Days,

- promoting the programme on social media (videos showing the stages of creating meals in the dietetic studios),

- establishment of a Dietetic Clinic,

- development of a guide to programme-related subjects and posting on the website,

- organising training for students in cosmetological treatments for the face and body and treatments using innovative cosmetological equipment,

 

Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology:

- extensive and well-structured cooperation with external stakeholders is of great value to students. This is because it allows them to familiarise themselves with the real working environment, the institutions in which they are being prepared to operate or, finally, the problems and challenges they may encounter during their careers,

- charity actions: SKN SYNERGIA "SUCZAWA ACTION", SKN SOCJALIA, and actions involving, among others, the collection of school materials for children from care and educational institutions, - internships and other project tasks carried out as part of two projects implemented at the WPP, i.e.: New Development Perspectives of the JKU in Kielce and the JKU Development Accelerator in Kielce.

 

Faculty of Arts:

- participation of students in artistic events (competitions, exhibitions, workshops, international art projects, concerts, musical performances, radio and TV programmes, joint publications, construction work) and scientific - conferences, seminars, publications,

- implementation of teaching projects under programmes funded by the European Social Fund,

- development of teaching staff by creating conditions for their artistic, research and pedagogical development, including the provision of opportunities to participate in language and methodological training funded under the project "NEW PERSPECTIVES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF the Jan Kochanowski University"

- intensive internationalisation of education and artistic and research activities, supported by the Deputy Dean for for Education and International Cooperation appointed for this purpose,

- involvement of students in voluntary work (performances for the benefit of people in hospitals - e.g. cooperation with ŚCO in Kielce, hospice, prison),

- intensive cooperation with external stakeholders, e.g. for the implementation of joint tasks and didactic projects, additionally developing skills and competences for working in teams (e.g. in cooperation with Cersanit S.A., Von Hagen Design, Dom Środowisk Twórczych Pałacyk Zielińskich in Kielce).

 

Branch in Piotrków Trybunalski:

- activities of the Piotrków Academic Fraternity named after Sigismund I the Old - with the participation of students and graduates of the History programme Organised by SKNH "Klio", competitions for secondary schools,

- cooperation of SKNH "Klio&" with the Town Hall of Piotrków Trybunalski in the organisation of cyclical "Trybunal meetings with history" (Marzipan Museum, Rynek Trybunalski 2), activities of SKNH "Klio" as a collective member within the PTH,

- participation of students of the Management programme in meetings and consultations with external stakeholders, i.e. lectures and workshops organized as part of the Education Quality Days, participation in a lecture by Wojciech Pantkowski, Deputy President of the National Clearing House entitled The digital transformation of financial services on 25 March 2021, as part of the Modern Business Management Programme (online lecture), participation in a lecture by Andrzej Karpinski, Director of Security at BIK Group, entitled: "Czy jesteśmy cyber (nie)bezpieczni?" (Eng. Are we cyber (not)safe?)" on 27 May 2021 Modern Business Management Programme (online lecture),

- activities of SKN Modern Manager,

- involving students of the Management programme in the Score Hunter platform, where they have the opportunity to learn in an attractive way about, among other things, building financial credibility, risk management to prevent scams on stolen identities. Activating Management students within the Branch Council of the Students' union

 

Branch in Sandomierz:

- a lecture for students given by an external stakeholder, the President of the District Court in Sandomierz, on the practical aspects of working in graduate administration in the judiciary.

Permanent measures:

- Student Association of English Language Learners registered under no. 155 in the Register of Student Student Associations at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce,

- Charity actions (all students).
